READY, SET (Screening Evaluation Training), EARLY INTERVENTION

Early Detection:  The Key to Best Outcome

What We Know

• Children who participate in intensive intervention before age 4 have a significantly better outcome than those beginning after age 5
Evidence-based interventions and methods based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) are supported by research and proven to be the most effective
• Early invention has a profound impact on I.Q. scores and post intervention placement

What We Can Do

Provide Earlier Screening and Diagnosis

  • Infant/Toddler Screening Clinic for children up to 4.5-years-old by diagnosticians trained in Autism Spectrum Disorders for families of “at risk” children who need financial assistance in covering the cost of screening and early intervention
  • Two parents or caregivers participate in assessment: While an autism specialist administers the Toddler ADOS Assessment, another diagnostic team member will conduct a clinical interview with the main caregiver

Provide Earlier Intervention

• Weekly training sessions and intervention take place in the child’s Home or at The Riley Center
• Full Family Training and Participation
• Goals centered on Family Priorities and Concerns
• Embeds Therapy and Intervention into Daily Routines, activities and family interests

Ready, Set, Go, Initiative is made possible through the generosity the The Huntsville Hospital Community Initiation Grant 2013/2014
