Tyler Alexander is an Associate Licensed Counselor through the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling, in which he is under the supervision of Holly Walker, LPC-S. Tyler has received a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Alabama A&M University and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Alabama in Communicative Disorders. Tyler has received training in Applied Behavior Analysis and is a Registered Behavior Technician through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, as well as practice and experience with Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Client Centered Therapy.

In regard to his mission and philosophy, Tyler adheres to the basic counseling foundations by showing unconditional positive regard, unity, and empathy. Tyler provides quality counseling care to help guide clients to positive life change. From the help and support of the The Riley Center family, Tyler is able to provide professional care in a safe and supportive environment for clients.
Who He Serves
Tyler’s counseling approach is tailored to parents who have children, adolescents, or young adults with ASD or special needs. Tyler also provides counseling needs to relatives of the family such as siblings, grandparents, or anyone closely involved with the child’s or adolescent’s life. However, Tyler also counsels those with general mental health concerns.
Tyler has experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADHD, Developmental Delay, Anxiety, Intellectual Disability, as well as comorbid issues related to these disorders such as: anxiety, sleep disturbances, gastrointestinal issues, feeding issues, behavioral problems, etc. Tyler also has experience with neurotypical children, adolescents, and adults, as well as conducting group therapy and parent training. Tyler has had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and young adults, ranging from classroom-wide teaching to individualized one-on-one therapy.
Fees & Scheduling
Tyler does not accept insurance payments at this time, but his fees are set at no more than what a common copay would cost a client. Sessions are $40 for 45 minutes.

If so, a $5 discount will be applied to your session fee.
